a collection of pages

Hi

I have been a bit slack in the uploading department lately so here is three LO's for you to look at.  The first LO is of my son after we had decorated his bedroom.  He loves animals so he loved his bedspread with animals all over it.  These photos are special because they show a part of his personality!! I have a thing for banners at the moments so I was happy to included this mini banner one from Little Yellow Bike.

The second LO is from a trip to Luna Park a few years ago.  I love the bright colours of Luna Park so it was appropriate to use bright paper for this LO.  I always find double LO's difficult, so I hope you like this one!!

The third LO is of my daughters 2nd birthday.  I am also going through a paper flowerette stage which I have handmade by folding a strip of paper backwards and forwards and then gluing it together to make a flower. You can attach many different things to make the centre, buttons circle paper etc.  it is a nice way to complement any LO!!

Big girl bed / First bike ride

Hi there

When I scrapbook I will quite often not use some really good embellishments because I want to use them for big and important layouts!  It is like using your good cutlery for special occasions only!!  I am trying to get out of this habit though as I have some beautiful embellishments waiting to be used and really every layout is important because it tells a story about your life!!  The embellishments of these two LO's are ones that I have had for a little while and have been waiting to use.  I absolutely love the lace and pearl bling on the first LO and the flower in the 2nd LO which are both from Prima.  They are so beautiful so I kept them for "good" LO's.  I think these occasions are "big" occasions in a child's life so they truly deserve these embellishments!!

Fun with leaves / Puddles of Fun

Hi

Both of these LO's have two of my favourite photos in them.  They are both photos of two of my children interacting with nature and having a great time doing it.  Who needs expensive toys!!!

The first LO was of my son playing in the autumn leaves at his grandparents house.  He spent ages plying in these leaves and the colours were amazing.  The second LO was taken on a miserable day with heaps of rain.  Once the rain stopped my daughter wanted to go outside and splash in the puddles and I thought great, that will make an awesome photo!!!

I have left the LO's quite simple because I really wanted the photos to be the stars in these LO's.

New Bike / Four

Hi,
For my eldest sons fourth birthday he received his first brand new bike.  This is a big event in a boys life so I have scrapped two LO's for his fourth birthday.  The first one is title (surprisingly enough) "New Bike" and the second LO is titled "Four".  This LO is about the parties he had for his birthday.  It is a double LO as I had heaps of photos to pick from so I thought the LO would be best as a double one to fit them all in!!
It is hard for the special occasions to limit the LO's you do as quite often you do have a lots of photos.  When I first started scrapping I wanted to use all the photos which led to a lot of LO's for the one occasion!  I have now learnt to scrap with a filter and only pick my favourite photos to represent an occasion!

3yr old kinder

I am the type of scrapper that normally scraps chronologically unless I find papers that would really suit a certain photo and I can't wait to use them!  To illustrate how behind I am in my chronological scrapping I recently scrapped this LO of my son starting his education journey by attending 3 yr old kinder.  That was in 2008 and he has just started grade 2 last week.  I need to get busy!!!!!

Fairy Floss Friends

Happy new year!!  I hope that 2012 brings you all happiness and health!!  One source of happiness is good friends and this photo of my daughter with her two best friends certainly shows that!!  The LO is made from the new Kaisercraft range of papers called "Hummingbird" and it is a great range for scrapping your pictures of friends as a lot of the elements include friendship quotes!  As soon as I saw this range I knew which photo I was going to use for it!
One of my new years resolutions is to scrap more because I love doing it and it makes me happy (except when the flow is not happening or the LO is not quite working!!).  I think we should all do more things that make us happy, so here's to a 2012 full of happiness!!!

Animals

Hi

I have just completed a off the page project.  This project was a long time coming as I am not usually a OTP scrapper.  It definitely took me out of my comfort zone!!  I finally decided on a book of animals as my 22 month old currently loves looking at books and animals ones are his favourite.  The papers and elements are from Kaisercrafts new range called "hummingbird".  The range is gorgeous!!  I also included some animals which I cut from the create a critter cartridge from cricut.  They worked well together!!

One of the items I received from Hobbysew Echuca was a pack of die cuts from Kaisercraft and when I undid it I was amazed at how many items there were in the pack. It is important when scrapbooking to get lots of bang for your buck and this pack certainly did that.  There were over 50 die cuts, including quotes, diecut animals and branches.  They were very versatile and I still have heaps left!!

Anyway I hope you enjoy my animal book and wishing you all a very merry christmas and a happy and healthy new year (with plenty of time to scrap!!!)
